New digi release this week at My Whimsical Little World is all about the music. Cadence is in the zone listening to songs on her smart phone, and Marcia is having a great time dancing with her pup Sinatra. To find these and other MWLW digis, head on over to Paola's Papers at Etsy. Scroll down and see what MWLW design team has created with these three adorable digis. Yay! I finally got my air compressor from Copic. Made sure to buy the one the was ready to go with no extra parts needed, 'cause this girl has no patience for machinery. However, it was not so simple as my husband and I ran into some trouble on getting it to work. The instructions were simple enough but they don't mention if the moisture trap tip is stuck to tap it lightly..among other things. Thankfully I called in for a favor from a friend and we got the compressor going. Let the party begin! ...the next day. LOL I started with a simple project...this was my first time using an air compressor solo. Sherri Siemens and Colleen Schaan were nowhere to be found in my studio. So solo I went.
I used the Some Odd Girl digi stamp Tweet Kaylee and the Hey Kaylee clear stamp set ( grass and snail). I cut out clouds with my Cameo, and the hills are a die set from Taylored Expressions. I wanted the base of both the sky and the ground to be soft looking so I used the chiseled end of the marker. I also wanted to get a speckled look on the background, but it is very faint...next time I need to up the pressure to get it to be more random and heavier looking.
Hope you liked my card. I really enjoyed making this one, and tomorrow I am going to get creative with the pressure. :)
New week means new digis at My Whimsical Little World. This week we have three digis to share with you, Anna, McKenna and Nina. Looks like they have already started shopping. I'm so jealous. :) Shopping is my favorite and it was inevitable that I would draw some shopping digis as this is the sport that I excel in. LOL The design team has created some awesome projects to showcase these lovely girls. Make sure you click on their names to hop on over to their blogs and see all the projects they created with Anna, McKenna and Nina.
I planned to have part two posted yesterday, but our home is up for sale and we had a showing. The studio was closed, so there was no creating yesterday. How droll, because I was itching to finish the canvas. But today I had no obstacles and got it done in a flourish.
Creating a canvas of this size-- I had the wrong measurements on my previous post, the canvas is actually 24x11-- is no easy task, as some planning has to happen. What is the story? What do I want to convey? I knew I wanted an affirmation that meant something to me and would motivate me when I saw it everyday to make something beautiful. As artists we are the first to snub our own art and convince ourselves we could have done so much better. In all honesty, now that it's done I am pleased how it turned out, but in the back of mind there is the little annoying voice telling me...maybe add this or perhaps you should have used another color. All done now! No going back! The kids like it. My husband liked it, even though he critiqued me half way through, questioning my thought process as to why there was blue in the sun. Blue in the sun? It's mix media...I could put a rabbit in the sun and it would be okay. :) LOL
I used inks, oil pastels, sprays..basically whatever I could get my hands on really. Now I was somewhat disappointed that I could not find my favorite border stamp in my creatively messy studio, however I quickly remembered I have a stash of rub-ons and used nearly all of them for the border. The little roses are a creme ribbon that I spray with Dylusions ink, and I used Liquid Pearl in the center with a little sparkle using Stickles.
I hope you like my canvas as much as I do. Should I even mention the accident that happened and nearly destroyed my entire piece. :) Part one of Canvas read here

We have some super cute little characters to help us celebrate this special day. Belle has a cupcake just for you and Astrid has been busy painting cupcakes to decorate the walls. What would a party be without balloons? Christopher made sure to bring balloons.
Who doesn't love cake? Yum! A yummy cupcake with lots of layers, a three tier whimsical cake, and a doughnut to make your day. Have you noticed I have a thing for cupcakes and sweet treats....they are my favorite. But alas I cannot eat them so I draw and color them.
Head on over to the My Whimsical Little World Facebook group today for the party. We have a day of activities planned and prizes to give away. One lucky winner gets a set of 12 Copic markers! For more details head over to the Facebook group ask to join and enter in the challenge.
