Inspirational Thursday at Little Miss Muffet Stamps

It's inspiration Thursday at Little Miss Muffet Stamps. Yay!  I had such a wonderful time this month being an honored guest at LMMS.  Thank you so much for the opportunity. :)  This is my last post for November for LMMS as a guest designer, but you will see future posts using LMMS on my blog.

I was debating if I should do a Christmas card or something else.  We had snow and I was really feeling Christmas...but rain came and took it all away.  I thought the LMMS digi stamp "Sonny Honeycloud Rainy Day" was perfect to brighten up anyone's day.  All of my craft supplies are packed, but I was able to find some scrapbooking supplies in an open box.  It was meant to be!... as the paper and epherma that I found were all about sunshine, rain and being happy.  All the shapes and 3x4 card behind digi stamp "Sonny Honeycloud Rainy Day" is epherma and a PL card.  I colored her up with my Copics to match the  colors of the epherma I used on the card.  I hope you like my card. I hope it has inspired you to use scrapbooking supplies on your cards.

Digi Release at My Whimsical Little World~ Fa La La La La

This week's My Whimsical Little World digi release is a few days late, but here we are midweek with a wonderful set of Christmas digis.  My family is in the process of moving, so we are buried in boxes and life is a bit chaotic. By mid December things will start to settle down and we will be back on schedule.

Here we go!  This week we have three cute digis to share with you.  Our first digi is a snowman duo called "Believe in the Magic."  If you look closely someone is playing peek-a-boo.   Our second digi, "Wishing," is a profile of a very lovely young lady.  Last but not least, my favorite, is our little house kitten "Fa La La La La."  He is adorable singing his Christmas carols.

To see more of what our DT members have created with "Believe in Magic", "Wishing " and "Fa La La La La"  click their names to visit their blogs.  Keep scrolling for some special activities we have going on right now at MWLW Facebook group.

CAS with Little Miss Mufftet Stamps

Today is CAS (clean & simple) day at the Little Miss Muffet Stamps Facebook group. :)

Tasked was creating a brilliant embellishment on the digi stamp "Cuthbert and Kiki's Sleigh Ride," I first cut the stamp using my Silhouette Cameo. Then, using Copic markers I sought to add just the right color to the image while preserving its clean and simple intent. I made the sky a light blue that bears subway graffiti. Secondly, I colored Cuthbert and Kiki so they look affectionately fluffy.
I hope the resulting creation has you yearning for Christmas.

Coffee Filter Flowers and Some Odd Girl Garden Gwen

Hi Oddies,
Paola here! :)
It is freezing and the snow is slowly making its way in our area.  I am missing all the pretty colors of the flowers.  I thought I would bring a bit of color in to the studio and make some paper flowers for my Garden Gwen tag.  I used a  die cut for the flower.  I also used Bamboo Twine from the Odd's & End's shop at Some Odd Girl.

 Items you will need
Garden Gwen clear stamp set
Coffee filters
Sprays
Heat gun
Versa Mark
Glue
Kraft sheet

To create the flowers I use a die cut, but for a more organic feel you can cut your own loop. You will get a different type of flower each time.   You will need coffee filters and sprays of your choice.

Lay your flower unrolled on the kraft sheet and spray.  The more you spray the darker the flower. I like the speckled look, so I keep a distance and spray a couple of times.

Next you have to wait for them to dry. Don’t use a heat gun because the paper is so thin the heat gun will burn the flowers.
Once dry roll them up and gently squish them onto the Versa mark.

Then apply clear emboss with long tweezers. Heat-set from a distance so as not to burn the flowers. Let them cool and then you can adhere them to your project.

Hope you liked my quick tutorial on making some coffee filter flowers.

Make sure to stop by the Some Odd Girl Facebook group to join this week's challenge and participate in the conversation.

Also don’t forget to link up for your chance to be spotlighted for the blog and win a digi from Some Odd Girl!

Have a creative day!

Santa Has Arrived at My Whimsical Little World

Good morning everyone! :)
It was a beautiful morning...This morning when I woke up there was snow on the driveway but not on the lawn.  Slowly but surely winter is making its way, and it's beginning to look a bit more like Christmas here in the Valley.   It is also beginning to look more and more like Christmas at My Whimsical Little World.
This week we have three digis to share with you.  Our first digi is a "Holly Jolly Christmas Cupcake". Our second digi is my favorite as I have a soft spot for Nutcrackers.   I love to place them all over my home in various sizes...I have yet to buy one that is close to a child's size or perhaps it is my husband shaking his head at me that prevents me from buying one.    The third digi is "Santa on Skates".  He is also making his appearance on skates.  Gives him an edge on speed. :)

Inspiration Thursday at Little Miss Muffet Stamps Facebook Group

I am so happy that I was able to play with Little Miss Muffet Stamps Christmas digi stamp "Claudia Loves Christmas".   There is something about Christmas that inspires me. The bright reds and greens, the sparkle! .

This week for LMMS  Facebook group inspiration I made a home decor piece:  a stand made of chip board.  If you want to you can even have a black shape mat and add a photo and make a picture stand.  Building it is fast and easy. Just cut the length of chip board you need and then gently score to leave 3 inches for the stand. If your stand is 4 inches tall, for example. You will need to cut a 7 inch piece. To seal it just spray a fixative over it.  I used digi stamp "Claudia Loves Christmas" .  Below the image you will find the Copic combo's I used.  For the overall weather look I sprayed it with a glimmer mist from tattered angels.

Winter is really HERE! :) New Winter Digi Release At My Whimsical Little World

The snow made its way to the Valley this past weekend.  There is still a dusting of snow on the ground.  Driving in the country the haystacks look like giant frosted Wheaties. LOL  Winter has ARRIVED!  I am excited and nervous about the cold. LOL  Love the snow...love that  you can be a kid in the snow.  Speaking of being a kid let me introduce one of our digis for this week,  a mischievous little girl  "Tansy". You've seen her before, but this week she is not in her superhero costume.   "Tansy" is all set for either making a snowman or having a snowball fight.  We also have a cute snowman "Cozy Winter Wishes" to share with you.  He is all dressed up in his finest hat and scarf, and is looking for a home on your Christmas cards. Scroll below to see what some of My Whimsical Little World DT members made with "Tansy" and "Cozy Winter Wishes".

Bundle Of Joy Newborn Digi Stamp Just Arrived At My Whimsical Little World

I really wanted to have this adorable "Bundle of Joy" digi of a newborn introduced all on its own, because it is very special to me.  Before I became ill,  I was a children's photographer and a photography mentor.

Just before I hit rock bottom with dysphagia, I took a newborn workshop with my dear friend Lisa Rapp in Toronto.  I will never forget that weekend.  It took everything I had inside of me to be there.  I knew deep down in my heart that it would be the last photography workshop I would attend and that I would be hanging up my camera soon. I mustered up all my strength to get to this workshop and learn all that I could about newborn photography and meet Lisa in person for the first time.   Lisa happens to be a newborn photographer and owner of Little Chics Pics photography.  We had talked and laughed plenty before this moment..but we were very lucky that we got to meet.  (See Paul, we did not abduct your wife and make her a sister wife. LOL)

It was a great weekend.  My favorite part was photographing the newborn babies.  My hope was to come back to the valley and specialize in that area.  Well, life had other plans for me and I had no say.  I hung up my camera and pulled up a pencil and brush.  However...Lisa  went forward and she is now a very talented newborn photographer.  She has come a long way.  Her first gigs were to shoot chickens and  she also had a knack for making them fall asleep.  Lisa...it was a good thing you finally took a pic!  Look at what you are doing now.  Amazing!  Lisa's work with newborns is breathtaking and inspiring.  I am honored to be her friend and that I was able to mentor her.

This workshop was our stepping stone....I am so happy that Lisa was able to go forward.  I am in awe when I see one of Lisa's babies turn up on my news feed.  I was really blown when I saw this image of a baby curled up and snuggled with a bear in a fur blanket.  I was inspired and could not sleep until I had a rough sketch drawn out.  I was also trying hard to keep it a secret from her and surprise her..but I am a kid at heart and I just had to let the cat out of the bag. :)  Stop by her page Little Chics Pics and show her some love...I promise you won't be disappointed.

Here is the image that inspired me to draw a "Bundle of Joy" digi stamp.  Absolutely magical!

And here is my interpretation of Lisa's newborn baby.

Some of the MWLW DT members also had some fun with the new "Bundle of Joy" digi stamp.

Little Miss Muffet Stamps PDP Issie Card Album

I am SUPER excited as this month I get to be an honored guest at Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  Eeeeks!

Such adorable little stamps, and I especially love the challenge of freehand coloring in the face.  I have been playing with different shades for skin tones...however...I still need to make the eyelashes look good.  I'm getting there! :)  Having the cheek and nose tutorial makes it a whole lot easier.  It looks hard, and it is tricky, but once you start trying and practicing you start to get the hang of it.

Here is my project for Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I made a card album all by myself.  Those who know me will be laughing because I said "all by myself".  Typically I have a friend helping me out with album projects.  Not this time..I figured it out and I made it!  I love it!  It turned out great!  I made the digi about 5 inches tall. I wanted Issie nice and big so I could have lots of fun coloring her up.  I found the face technique ..for me also worked better in larger digis.  Smaller sizes are tricky for me. I need more room. :)
